Drum Music

The student need to learn to read music sheets to be able to play fills and drum beats from the  drum notation. To ensure that the student get the maximum response and bounce from the drumstick, he needs to master the many variations of holding the drumstick correctly.

Once the student has learned the basics of drum techniques, there are many styles of drum music he can learn to play. This will not only maintain his interest in learning drums but will motivate him to improve Jazz music is soulful, creative and has a melody and harmony which is memorable. The heartbeat of the song is its’ rhythm which can be catchy, fast, happy or even complicated. Some features in jazz music are bee bop, swing and ragtime which helped to create these wonderful melodies and rhythms. For jazz drums, accompaniments, improvisations and voicings are important topics to learn.

Reggae is a form of music which started in the late 1960s in Jamaica. This refers to various styles of music from Jamaica characterised by calypso music , rhythm and blues, jazz and the mento. In Classic Rock style, the student will learn to do the fills and grooves which will help him to play in any band. Latin music was originally from Latin America and is now popular in many parts of the world. Bossa, Cumbia, Beebop, Rhumba, Salsa and Samba are some of the well known music from Latin America. In Latin drumming, the approach is different as it uses varied Latin grooves, rhythms, feels and tempos. Funk music was created by African-American musicians in the mid-to late 1960s. This style has a mixture of rhythm and blues mixed with jazz and soul music and is often catchy, danceable and rhythmic in nature.
