The personality and attitude of the teacher is vital in making the drum lessons fun and exciting. Kids want to have fun and if they like the happy atmosphere during the lesson , they are more likely to continue their classes. The teacher should not download too much music information till the student is ready for the more serious stuff. The young drummers need to learn and practice a drum beat till he gets it correct and is consistent on playing the pattern taught to him. The teacher need to communicate to the student that it is alright to make mistakes when he is learning. An environment where perfection is demanded will cause stress to the student,thus he may not enjoy the drum lessons anymore. Letting the student have time to free play with the drum may get him excited as he can play or hit the drum any way he wants and listen to the various sounds he makes
