Popular music is often referred to as pop music originated in the 1950s and has a large audience appeal. This style of music changes it’style depending on the period and time it is performed. Pop music often has a rhythm the listeners can dance to and incorporates  many styles like jazz, hip hop, rock to name a few. Many people comment that pop music is repetitive, simple and easier to play.This type of music emphasises on craftsmanship and often focuses on romantic and love themes. It is flexible, often has verses and chorus as a basic format with a catchy melody.

Pop music  with its’ wide appeal indirectly shapes the way people talk, dress and behave. Whereas classical music performers need proper training, pop music can be played by people with little musical training. Pop music is very marketable, leaves strong memories behind with its’ lyrics, vocals or even the instruments used. The instruments used include digital pianos, keyboards, guitars, drums and amplifiers. The drummer in pop music can either use the acoustic or digital drum kit.
